For those of you dont know an ST3 is a box that is plugged into the ODB port of the car. The box then downloads the information that it needs from the cars ECU. You then plug the box into your computer and write a file with the cars standard map. This is then emailed off and the mapping can be changed. The files are then emailed back and loaded on to the box. From the box they can be uploaded to the car.

Thought I would share my thoughts of the ST3 with you all. I spoke for ages with Chris before I bought the system from him. I wanted to make sure that I would get the maps that suited me. I was very impressed with how easy the system is to use. The on screen instructions are very clear and easy to understand. I opted for an economy map and the fast road map. I naturally have only tried the fast road map up to now. At first I was dissapointed with the map, it wasnt the surge of power I was expecting. Then after driving it I understand what the map is about, the power is much more progressive and the delivery is smoother and the engine is quiter not only at idle but also at crusing speed. MPG is definatly up about 2-3 MPG but that is me driving the car hard. I would expect that I would see real increase with careful driving.

I have spoken to Chris since the tuning box arrived and I have applied the map. He called me to see how I was getting on with the map and the product. The call was unxpected and out of the blue but was nice to see that he was looking after his customers something that doesnt happen often enough these days. So its a big thumbs up to Chris at CCTuning!

Overall I am very impressed with the product and the map that I have tried.

I've had my bmw chipped and its made everything a lot better. I've got a lot more power right through the rev range and its got rid of all the flat spots. It has more torque and it drives a lot better. Chris was very helpful and professional.
